provides informations for wheelchair using travelers, travelling throughout EUROPE and searching for barrier-free facilities.
In the meantime we, friends of us, members of the ABS e.V. and many disabled clients from allover the world have checked out thousands of Hotels, Appartements, holiday resorts, recreational cure, spa and nursing institutions, Houseboats, Castles and much more - wether they fit the special requirements of travellers with disabilities. e.g.: how to wheel barrier-free inside the shower, where to find an accessible rental car for active self driving individual travellers or groups, how to get beeing picked up from an european airport by an accessible wheelchair taxi, wether Hotels provide easily access for manual folding or powered wheelchairs, wether nurses assist also in Hotels, wether Restaurants provide menue cards printed in braille, or if tourists offices provide guided tours for blind guests, audio guides, or gestion interpreters for visitors with hearing impairness.
In the meantime we installed two new offices (Switzerland and France) and we founded two accessible van rental stations, one in the near of Frankfurt Hahn Airport and one in the Zurich Airport Area - a third station will follow soon in Munich, Bavaria. An adapted van, equipped with handcontrol and electric powered lift, another with handcontrols and electric powered ramp and a third just with handcontrols, offers wheelchair using travelers more comfort than travelling by rail or coach - it means independence from timetables and delays - and gives a free travel feeling.
